Loren's eLiterate

I like all sorts of genres, and I love a good series. However, I dislike books that portion the story out to readers in a serialized fashion over several volumes, and I refuse to buy them.

Marrying the Royal Marine (Channel Fleet, #3) - Carla Kelly This is one of my favorite Carla Kelly books, even though it's one of her darker stories. Or perhaps I enjoy it so much because it's one of her darker stories. Ms. Kelly doesn't whitewash the horrors of war and the toll it takes on both the soldiers fighting in it and the civilians trying to live through it.

The relationship between Polly and Hugh starts off slowly, but it steadily builds throughout the book, and by the end I just knew they would continue to be happy together, having already suffered through more trials and tribulations than most couples go through in a lifetime.
